I've been doing a little work in advance trying to scope out a Sunday ride. As you probably know all San Diego City parks are closed and most San Diego County parks are open. So I'm thinking our best bet might be to ride Sycamore Canyon, starting at the north end. Juli and I just drove out to the Sycamore trailhead off of Fanita and it is open, but a rider said it was pretty muddy. The north end has a lot more elevated riding. Since we can't get in at Sycamore West because of closure, we should be able to go in at the Beeler Canyon Road trail entrance. Here's the Google maps location:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/13576-13478+Beeler+Canyon+Rd,+San+Dieg...
From here we could ride most of the normal Sycamore Canyon west ride, plus Martha's, Goodan Ranch, etc.
What do you say? I had hoped to go to Lake Morena, but it will be pretty cool and probably muddy out there Sunday, so that ride probably should wait a week or two.
Let's hear from you by late afternoon on Saturday.

Well here in NZ we are
Well here in NZ we are completely shut down. All mountain bike/hiking trails and parks off limits. Only biking close to home; I have a few areas I can combine into a reasonable ride. Still can run and swim (wetsuit) if you can walk to beach. Our flights to LAX have been cancelled so working on new flights.
Hope you can get back soon,
Hope you can get back soon, but I guess there aren't many safe places to be at the moment. We had to cancel our biking trip to Northern Spain at the end of May because of the uncertainty of how the pandemic will affect us.
Stay safe and good luck on finding a flight.

OK, the ride I mentioned
OK, the ride I mentioned above won't be possible. Juli and I drove out to the end of Beeler Canyon Road this morning, and the entrance to the singletrack trail we would use has been closed off. So this won't work.
So, if the group wants to ride tomorrow, we can ride either SOUTH Sycamore by going to the Fanita Parkway trailhead. Or we could ride NORTH Sycamore by going to the parking area at the end of Sycamore Canyon Road via Poway. There are pros and cons to both options, which you'll have to think about for yourself.
If you want to ride tomorrow, please express your preference by later this afternoon.
Thanks,
RM
Sycamore
We would be interested in riding either way. North end would be sycamore west? Right? What time? The later the better since it is cold!
I may pass on riding tomorrow
I may pass on riding tomorrow as I have some work to do for a client with a RIF early next week. I thought I saw that there may be some showers tomorrow as well. I'll let you know later as I may be able to get the majority of the work done this afternoon.
I'm pretty sure there's very
I'm pretty sure there's very little chance of rain tomorrow. Maybe a few clouds, but it should be CB pleasant. Hope you can make it

Sycamore
Why don't we try south sycamore and go the steeper trail up the hill. That should be dryer. 9am?
OK, let's do Sycamore at 8:30
OK, let's do Sycamore at 8:30. And we'll skip the part across the lowlands as Reiner suggests.to avoid mud. See you there.

OK
I now have buttons that work for that trail
