THURSDAY NIGHT RIDE, AUGUST 6
Looks kike I can make it this Thursday, but how about starting at 4:30 to avoid the heat a little more? I was thinking maybe Spring/Oak. Let me know what you think.
I'm concerned about the recent warning bulletins out of the marine base. They explicitly say the bike will be confiscated and held until a hearing on the base and fine payment. Even if one is willing to risk a ticket for several hundred dollars (first offense), having a multithousand dollar bike get out of one's sight/control for a protracted period is not appealing.
So if we can piece together a nonbase ride, Spring Oak is good. Otherwise, Sycamore ? with plans to stay east of the base...

I'm OK riding Sycamore again, until we learn what's possible at Spring/Oak. I'll let Jerry know in case he doesn't look at the blog again.
See you there at 4:30.

Sounds good. I'm being paranoid...but it seems sooner or later they are going to "make some examples" if people continue to ride on the base.
