As THE Ridemaster, my WISHES are your COMMANDS, so I'm just going to start wishing... And then, you can start ABIDING ASAP!
THURSDAY NIGHT RIDE, AUGUST 21
I'm hoping to ride this Thursday, if anyone can join. I'm available to start at 4:00 and am negotiable where we ride. Let me know if you think you can make it and if you have a ride preference.
I will be earning a living, planning to join the RM and then heading to Harry's for an event/Happy Thing... Something akin to having your beer and drinking it too... whereas Pete is merely having it... (or something like that...) Also, I guess Lil' Stevie misspelled the RM's street name on purpose so as not to create a feminine reference as in Marcy... That's thinking only a gifted high school student would appreciate! Where is in?
How about Sycamore Canyon at 4:00? We can park on that gated street below the dirt parking lot. I have to leave by 6:30, so no pizza for me, but that shouldn't stop the rest of you.
Is there a way to access the trails on the east side from another direction than the one we usually take? I've been told there are several trails there in addition to the trails we've been riding lately. If we could get there sooner (from another entrance) we might be able to take in more of them.
From the usual parking spot, you can ride the road that goes along the east side of the "ponds" and take a couple of short turns through that neighborhood and be on the east side pretty fast. Jeff and I did that once when the Marines were nabbing people at the powerline towers.
Some months ago we tried parking elsewhere to gain faster entry...taking the Cuyamaca St exit and driving through that neighborhood as far north as possible. You end up having to do a long steep fireroad from there to get to anything...and the cars seemed more exposed to potential trouble.
