SUNDAY, APRIL 27 MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDE
On Thursday night we talked about possibly doing a mountain ride on Sunday. The weather forecast for the Cuyamacas is highs in the 50s and gusty winds, so we might want to consider a different ride.
CM East....not as heavily traveled as our usual spots
EF--contrary to popular belief, they do allow 29ers.....;-)
Sweetwater exploration--did a little bit of that a couple of Thursdays ago. One big hill at the beginning, and it's small ups and downs from there....sparsely ridden and pretty views.
near the town of Crest...which is supposed to have highs 65-70 with light winds
definitely an exploration/adventure...i have seen many postings about trail work out here in the past couple of years
Bill compares it to Daley Ranch but with more singletrack
I'm good with Mission Trails East, Sycamore (Rebel Run ?), Elfin (but we should try to find Via Ambiente/Cielo Trail way up for a change), too. Sweetwater didn't wow me when I went out a couple of years ago and it is a long way to go for no wow.
I think we should follow Julie's suggestion and give Crest a try, especially if Julie can bring the maps and ride notes. How about meeting at the Park N Ride trailhead at 8:00am?
Sounds good ! If you haven't seen the MountainBikeBill link yet, the distance to the Preserve should be about the same as to Anderson Truck Trail, but south of 8
