Alan;'s landscaper and some friends are riding the Carrizo Gorge trail this Sunday at 8:00. I understand it's about 17 miles that takes 3 hours to complete, starting near Jacumba. The weather is not ideal, high of about 50, but it should be mostly sunny and the risk of rain and wind should be minimal.
Let me know what you think about doing this. Otherwise, it's probably ATT or nothing because most of the local trails are muddy.

ADVENTURE ! ! ! It will
ADVENTURE ! ! ! It will give me a chance to use the handwarmer packs I bought at REI and Marc can use his breath-warmer/balaclava device.
Did you see Richard's note ? Bring lights if you have them...at least a headlamp and extra batteries...for the long tunnels.
Seems like we should do this
Seems like we should do this ride once and sounds pretty harmless in spite of video ...although, if chosen, I will be following someone with a light
I'm in if the consensus is to
I'm in if the consensus is to go. No lights, however.
Enjoy the adventure! The
Enjoy the adventure! The famous miles fall video was on a singletrack bypass of one of the tunnels. These trails were all overgrown with cactus and had also been damaged by rockfalls when I did the ride in 2008 and again in 2009. So I'm tipping unless there's been a lot of maintenance these won't be passable. Any deviations from the train track bed itself calls for a good helping of Stan's or the RM's special mix! Jerry will be fine riding behind someone with a good light. Let me know if you get it done in less than 3 hours. Pete, take lots of pictures and send me a link!

My bike's down...turns out that all that creaking may be from bad bearings (really, after only a year??) or an ungreased portion of the rear hub. Have fun and take some pix.
Hey Friends, Petey's gonna'
Hey Friends,
Petey's gonna' pass on the "adventure" tomorrow. I have client work I need to get done and this little ride will take a good chunk out of the day.
Enjoy yourselves and don't get lost in the tunnels.
Guess it's an official
Guess it's an official Ridemadventure! And we even got rid of the wimpy ones... btw, their group, besides a light is advising bringing a dust scarf - perhaps borrowing a shot of the RM"s ALbuterol will suffice.
WTF?
WTF?
