I think I can ride Thursday. Haven't we done Lake Poway before? Is there a pizza place near by? I'd prefer our usual haunt of Oak/Spring since it's such a good ride with so many options.
Steve:The RM and Pete had a harrowing experience @ Lake Poway a couple decades ago and it's turned into PTS Syndrome although perhaps it's time for therapy...
There is a Filippi's about 3 miles away on Poway Road around Pomerado. I have an event in Delmar that i have to make an appearance at by 6:45 at the latest so if Poway I will probably go on ride, since I can shower on way out but otherwise I'll take the week off,... which is not a big deal since I'm planning on riding on the road ot Old Town in the morning if there is no rain, hurricanes or tornados or blizzards...
From what I remember, and it's been a long time, the ride around Lake Poway sucks! It's basically a short fire road with a number of short steep spots. I agree with Jerry about Spring/Oak, or even Mission Trails west being a better ride. Not trying to be negative or selfish, just honest.
hmmm...Steve, it sounds as though a solo pre-ride of Poway might be in order before we head that way. i'm sure a few people wish I had done that before Black Mountain ! Actually I still plan to do a solo preride of the western entrance to Black Mountain via Santaluz.....but I digress...
I plan to ride...Oak/Spring always good...Mission Trails always tough...where should I show up ?
