I just checked the weather reports, and it rained .81 inches in Santee. I'm afraid it will be muddy/sticky in the lower areas west of Santee Lakes and make the Sycamore ride not much fun.

How about Anderson Truck Trail instead? A little rain doesn't seem to matter much out there because of the granite soil and good drainage.

Sorry to be asking this so late, but is there a preference for a mountain or a local ride on Sunday?

I was thinking we could ride in the Cuyamacas, and either do that short stretch on the PCT, or we could do Azalea Springs.

Or we could do what we did last Sunday, but we would do a loop in Sycamore Canyon that would take us back up to the top of the ridge line that Peter Wood showed us the "new" way down.

Let me know asap, so I can get the final ride posted before it gets too late. Thanks

Bike Review

I have relatives coming in Thursday afternoon and evening, so riding for me (with or without supplemental lighting) is out. Anyone else who wants to go can use this post to get a ride organized.

I know I've said it before, but this really will be the last Thursday night ride of the season. There may be some riding with lights after this, but I doubt we would have many takers.

So, given the time we have, I'd like to suggest Oak Canyon/Spring Canyon at 4:30 pm (sharp). We could ride until about 6:30, which should be enough to do the switchback section and the "extra" section to the north.

Of course, pizza and beer at Filippi's will follow at approximately 7:00.
