I have finally come down with the cold that's been going around, so I'm not able to ride Thursday night. That shouldn't stop the rest of you however. If anyone is going to ride and stop by Filippi's afterward, I might find the strength to meet you there.
The RideMaster has been doing the rain dance for hours and it's not working. I even have my trusty sidekick, Petee... Did someone put krytonite dust into the clouds???
As we probably discussed previously, Richard will be coming into town for the day on Sunday and would like to ride with us. He's not arriving until around 11:00 or 12:00, so why don't we plan to meet about 1:00pm.
I'm going to keep trying to get the season for these rides restarted until I succeed.
How about this Thursday at 4:00pm at the Spring/Oak Canyon trailhead? The dirt lot is closed and locked at 5:00pm, so anyone who can make the ride should park outside the gate on the pavement area. It's supposed to be clear and in the high 70's, so weather looks great. I don't think we'll get enough rain between now and then to muddy up the trails.
Looks like the weather will be perfect tomorrow for anywhere we want to ride. As much as I would like to ride the Lagunas, I think it would be a bad choice due to melting snow and mud. The Cuyamacas or Lake Morena would be good, but I'm OK with a local ride if that's what it takes to get a ride together.
Julie is out of town, but I would appreciate some input and suggestions from the rest of you.
I guess we should have some sort of celebration of the 2012 after work riding season beginning this week. So, weather permitting, I am proposing that we ride Spring/Oak or Mission Trails West at 4:00pm.
Pizza and beer at Filippis could follow, or in the case of bad weather we could skip the riding and have pizza and beer and make up a story of the big ride that didn't happen.
Let me know if you can join us for this ride, and if you have a preference of locations.
Alan, I will have a working fork on your bike by then!
Want to try the Cuyamacas tomorrow? Weather should be pretty nice and I doubt that residual snow would be much of a problem there. We could meet at the Sweetwater River parking lot at 8:00am (where the horse trailers park).
