So, to formally celebrate Richard surviving to the ripe old age of 50, we've decided to go ride the San Juan trail on Sunday. We would like to get an early start and try and get on the road by 6:30, so we can beat the heat and some of the downhill riders that might knock us off the trail. Pete, Jerry, and Alan can ride with me. Jeff can put Julie's bike rack on his truck and take himself, Julie, Richard, and Carmel. Steve can drive himself and anyone else planning to join us.

Julie suggested we do a mountain ride tomorrow, to get some high altitude training in. So, I can think of several rides:

1. Lagunas
2. Cuyamacas
3. Lake Morena

Any of those sound good?

The RM is back and ostensibly in charge. As soon as I go buy some XXL biking shorts today to fit my new Louie XIV profile, I should be ready to ride on Sunday.

So where should we go? I understand that Jeff and Julie have discovered a new add-on to the Spring/Oak ride, which would be fine with me.

As you know, I'm out of town for two weeks. (so is Julie Phillips)

So it won't be considered mutiny or anything punishable if someone wants to step in and organize some rides in my absence. Heck, if it's done really well, there may be a future RideMaster job in it for the lucky aspirant.

The Thursday night group voted to ride in the Cuyamacas on Sunday. Starting from the Sweetwater Parking area off Hwy 79, we'll do the Westside trail, Upper Green Valley Trail to Soapstone, the the La Cima trail over to the Lucky 5 trail and back to the car by one of various options.

Tierrasanta at 7:00 or the parking lot at 8:00am.
